Why Buy From Us?

Free Just Can't Wait card included

Every pack includes a Just Can't Wait card, which explains your need to use a toilet urgently without you having to say it out loud. It's recognised in thousands of shops, cafés and venues across the UK.

No declaration, no paperwork

You don't need a diagnosis, a Blue Badge or a form countersigned by anyone to buy a Radar key from us. Order it in under a minute, and apply VAT relief at checkout if you're eligible.

Official NKS keys, not copies

Every key we sell is a genuine National Key Scheme key, made to the scheme's own specification. The cheap copies sold elsewhere are the ones that stick, turn halfway or snap off in a lock when you can least afford it.

FAQs

Common questions

Which key should I buy?

One key covers most people. Twin, triple and quad packs suit families, or anyone who wants a spare in the car, in a bag and at home. If you'd find a small key hard to grip or to find in a bag, choose one with a fabric keyring attached.

What is the Just Can't Wait card?

A discreet card, the size of a bank card, that explains you have a medical condition and need urgent access to a toilet. It saves you having to explain yourself at a counter, and one comes free with every key we sell.

How do I know this is a genuine key and not a copy?

Ours are official National Key Scheme keys, made to the scheme's specification and tested against real locks. Copies are common on marketplaces and are usually cast from softer metal, which is why they bend or jam.

Where will my key actually work?

Accessible toilets in shopping centres, motorway services, train stations, pubs, libraries, leisure centres, car parks and Changing Places facilities. Look for the blue accessible sign and a lock with a Radar keyhole.

Do I have to prove I'm disabled to buy one?

No. There's no declaration to sign and nothing to send us. The scheme works on trust, and keys are sold openly to anyone who needs one, including carers and family members buying on someone else's behalf.

What is a Radar key?

A Radar key, also called an NKS key, is the standard key for the National Key Scheme. The scheme locks accessible toilets so they stay clean, available and free from misuse, and one key opens over 14,000 of them across the UK.

Ordering & delivery

What if the key doesn't open a lock?

Email us at info@bluebadgecompany.co.uk. It's worth telling us where the lock was first, though: a genuine key that won't turn usually means the lock itself is worn or has been changed, and that's something we can report.

How quickly will it arrive?

Orders placed before the daily cut-off are picked and posted the same working day, so a standard delivery typically lands within two to three working days. Pre-orders are dispatched once the item becomes available, so delivery times may vary depending on the expected stock arrival date for Pre-orders

Can I claim VAT relief?

Yes, if you have a long-term illness or disability. Tick the VAT relief box at checkout and the VAT comes off your order. Every price on this page is shown both including and excluding VAT.

How much is shipping?

Free on UK orders over £30. Below that, £4.95 for small & light products, £5.95 for larger products. Express shipping is £6.95 if you need a key for a specific date.

Radar keys and accessible toilet access in the UK

A Radar key is the single most useful thing you can carry if you rely on accessible toilets. The National Key Scheme was set up so those toilets could be locked against misuse while staying open to the people who need them, and the same key opens all of them, from a motorway services outside Carlisle to a village library in Devon.

We sell genuine NKS keys on their own, in twin, triple and quad packs, and paired with fabric keyrings made in Britain in William Morris prints, spots and plain colours, so the key is easy to find in a bag and easy to hold if your grip isn't what it was. Every order includes a free Just Can't Wait card, and larger packs work out cheaper per key if you want spares at home, in the car and in a coat pocket.

No proof of disability is needed to buy from us, and eligible customers can claim VAT relief at checkout. If you're not sure which key or keyring suits you best, our guide to Radar keys walks through the differences, and our team answers questions about access, delivery and VAT every working day.
