What You'll Need to Apply
- A recent digital photo (head and shoulders)
- Proof of identity (e.g., passport, driving licence)
- Proof of address (dated within the last 12 months)

How Much Does a Blue Badge Cost?
- England: Up to £10 (varies by council)
- Scotland: £20
- Wales: Free
How Long Does It Take?
- You may be asked to attend a walking assessment as part of your application.
- Timescales depend on assessment centre availability, so applying early is wise.
Renewing Your Blue Badge
- Apply 4 to 6 weeks before your badge expires.
- If your badge has a serial number ending in 'R' (meaning it's reviewable), apply at least 6 weeks prior to expiry.
- Remember, it’s up to you to renew on time—some councils process thousands of applications every month!
If Your Application Is Refused
- Your council will explain why.
- You can request a reconsideration if you believe they missed important details.
- If your mobility issues worsen, you can reapply.
